You Can Never Have Enough Nail Polish
A few nail of the days for your viewing pleasure:
OPI: "Pamplona Purple"
I love the "barnie purple" of this shade if you will. I almost didn't need too coats because it was so opaque. It's a bit more cranberry in person, but so so pretty.

Essie: "Over the Edge"
I would describe this as almost black, gun-metal like. A new dark favorite.

Sephora Needs To Get Their S*** Together.
I went to Sephora this weekend, and they have yet to disappoint me. I came home FULLY satisfied with my purchases the other night, then as I was opening up everything, I realized the Makeup Forever full coverage matte concealer I INTENDED on buying was not was in the box. What I had was a "lift concealer" made for undereye circles and dark spots. It was a very thin formula and NOT what I wanted at all. It's like comparing a tinted moisturizer to a full coverage foundation. I was NOT pleased. At first I thought, "Well, maybe the tester felt a little different in the store... Let's give this a try." Once again, NOT PLEASED. Yeah, I know. It's a white girl problem, but I paid $22! I wanted what I paid for!
So I called Mary, who came with me and bought the SAME EXACT product in the SAME shade, and she was so glad she figured out why the formula felt so different and wasn't as tacky as we originally tested it as.
And yes, you may be thinking, "But ASHLEY! They look completely different. Are you blind?" But I assure you, the black boxes are almost identical. Picking up a black box with the #3 printed on it behind Tester #3, one would assume you were picking up what you wanted.
Oh well... Mary & I are venturing out to Sephora once again tonight. Because not only did it happen to ME, it happened to her. I'm glad to know that I am not that dumb. For real.

I Think I Have a Problem
I recently got my tax return as well as my bi-weekly paycheck, so I decided it was due time for a shopping trip. I recruited my best friend from work Mary Krusch to come with, considering we have the same addiction as well as very similar skin tones. She hasn't bought any new make-up since before her wedding/birth of her baby, so we deemed it necessary. We stopped into Sephora first, and went absolutely crazy. I've been desiring the Makeup Forever Mat Velvet Foundation for months, but I couldn't see myself spending $34 on a product I'm putting on my face in the morning, and washing off at night. But with a bit of peer pressure and some swatches on my face, I caved and bought not only the foundation but the water-resistant concealer from the line.
I haven't applied a full face of this glorious, precious liquid yet, but I will show my beautiful face when I do. What I've been struggling with foundations recently, is that by the end of the day, I just feel so greasy and my make-up tends to slide off. I'm hoping this will prove otherwise.
We also obviously had to hit up the MAC Pro store, as Mary was extremely lacking in the Satin Taupe shade department. I was in need of some more Foundation Fix Plus Powder, but then I realized I was probably putting more product on my face than necessary so I consulted the cute employee. She suggested me using my foundation and concealer and setting it with the MAC Mineral Skin Finish, so I also caved:
I love the baked look of the product and how well it looks on my skin. I went with Light/Medium.
I've also been looking for a "Barbie pink" blush because I am so pale, and although it may look too overdone on other skin tones, it makes me look fresh faced and barely flushed. Kind of like the, just came in from sledding sort of look. So, it just so happens that the makeup consultant was wearing THE perfect shade that I was looking for. Obviously it was a MAC shade so she recommended it and I purchased it as well:
How pretty is that?!
Anyways, I'm pretty satisfied with my purchases, but my wallet is not. The end :)
Do you recommend anything else from Sephora or the MAC store that you've purchased recently?

I'm Bad at Blogging
Well well well... I unsuccessfully completed a 30-day blogging challenge. It's quite possibly because I started in the midst of a holiday season. Now that all of that hype is over with, I feel like I can finally settle down and realistically blog. I've somewhat decided that my long term goal is to receive some sort of cosmetology licence, but in the meantime, try to brush up on my makeup/hair/nail guru skills through this source.
I've been OBSESSED with Essie nailpolish lately.. Clearly:
(L to R: Mod Square, Sexy Divide, Turquoise & Caicos, and Mamba.)
I haven't painted my nails with any of the colors except Turquoise & Caicos yet, because I was so excited about the mint chocolate chip-ness of this color!
Isn't it fantastic?!? I'm so excited for it to be warmer so I can expand my collection & get some more flattering colors.

Day 17 - My Wedding/Future Wedding/Past Wedding
I obviously haven't gotten married yet. However, I have thought through what my ideal wedding would be like. I'm obsessed with small details and vintage style. So.. here we go!
I think I want pink & brown as my colors. Either that, or pink and black.
I also want cute, short dresses with pockets. :)

Day 16 & 17
TGIF!!!!
Day 16 - A Song That Makes You Cry (or nearly)
I don't know many songs that make me cry CONSISTENTLY. I've had moments in my car where a love song catches a soft spot in me while PMSing or something, or I've taken a song a bit too personally to my own life, ha. But usually, if I DO cry during a song, it's happy tears. I honestly can only think of "Mine" by Taylor Swift and "The Day Before You" by Rascal Flatts. Ha, I know. Lame.
Day 17 - An Art Piece (Drawing, Sculpture, Painting, etc)
I made this for my best friend for the day of her bridal shower so her guests would be able to somewhat 'sign in' when they arrived and leave something memorable for her to keep. It's in a frame, hung in her living room now, and it contains the fingerprints of everyone that were in attendance at her shower. I drew the tree by hand and then used some acrylic paint to fill in the tree and also follow the theme of her wedding invites with her & her now husband's initials "carved" into the tree.
Happy Friday loves.
